  • What makes GFEase unique?

GFEase runs on a cutting edge software platform that streamlines and simplifies the entire process of virtual Good Faith Exams. As of late 2024, the Docovia platform has connected over 600,000 patients with virtual consultations, appointments, and Good Faith Exams.

Additionally, we work on your behalf to get your new patients cleared for your full range of services rather than just one service at a time. This reduces additional costs  and saves time down the road if and when you or your team  successfully upsell a client on a new service!

Not only do we help you maintain compliance and ensure you have proper documentation to reduce liablity, but we also assist you with your new patient acquisition strategy during your onboarding.

  • How long does it take to onboard my practice?

Our onboarding process is stress free because we meet you where you are on your journey of running your business. Whether you are planning to launch your business soon, for example in the next few months, or if you are a well-estbalished brand with loyal clients, we take care of everything for you from start to finish including but not limited to:

  • What is a Good Faith Exam in the context of the Aesthetics & Wellness Industry?

A Good Faith Exam is a medical clearance conducted by an appropriately licensed medical professional to assess a new patient's eligibility for various treatments offered by a Med Spa, Wellness Clinic, Aesthetic Practice, or another type of practice within the Aesthetics and Wellness Industry.

The goal of the exam is to ensure it is safe for the patient to receive various aesthetic or wellness treatments and services.

We only hire Nurse Practitioners to conduct our Good Faith Exams.

  • How does a virtual Good Faith Exam work?

During a virtual Good Faith Exam (GFE), a patient will meet with one of our licensed medical professionals via a telehealth video call through our proprietary software platform. The healthcare professional will ask the patient questions about their medical history, current complaints, and desired outcomes.

While most exams are completed in 3-5 minutes, the biggest factor for the duration of the exam is the medical history of the patient. The more complex their medical history is, the longer it tends to take.

  • At what point does a Good Faith Exam need to be redone?

For all patients you are treating, you need to have a valid Good Faith Exam on file. This exam must be completed for all new patients as well as for current patients who have not received a GFE in the last 12 months.

Every patient should receive a Good Faith Exam at least once every 12 months OR when there are significant changes to the patient's medical history.

New allergies, new medications, new surgical history, recent and/or prior treatments, or even a new medical diagnosis would be sufficient reasons for a patient to receive a new Good Faith Exam.

The biggest reason you should ensure that this is happening 1005 of the time is to be able to show documentation that you, as the business owner, have done your due diligence to ensure that it is safe for all your patients to receive their desired service.

We cannot stress this enough: DO NOT TAKE SHORTCUTS!

  • Why does a patient need a Good Faith Exam for aesthetic treatments?

A Good Faith Exam is essential to evaluate the patient's medical history, current health status, and their specific goals to determine the suitability of treatments, minimize risks, and provide personalized recommendations.

A Good Faith Exam ensures the patient is safe to receive their desired service. Skipping this step could cause fines, jail time, or disciplinary action from your respective state Medical Board.

  • Is a virtual Good Faith Exam as effective as an in-person examination?

Yes. When conducted by a qualified professional, a virtual Good Faith Exam is just as effective as an in-person exam for assessing your suitability for treatments.

In many cases it is more cost effective to outsource the GFE to a third party to enable your advanced providers on-site to focus on revenue generating activities.

  • What information should a patient have available for the virtual exam?

A patient should be prepared to discuss their medical history, allergies, current medications, and previous treatments, if any.

  • Is a patient's personal and medical information secure during the virtual exam?

Yes. GFEase uses a state-of-the-art proprietary software platform that is fully HIPAA compliant. This platform protects the privacy of the patient and the practice and ensures that Private Health Information (PHI) is kept confidential.

  • Can a patient receive a virtual Good Faith Exam at a previouslyscheduled time?

Yes. GFEase builds out a customized landing page, a unique QR code, and a specific URL link for each practice to help connect our providers with patients during our hours of operation.

Not only can a patient receive a GFE on demand, but also they can pre-schedule the GFE prior to their appointment and complete it at home or their workplace for total convenience.

  • What happens after the virtual Good Faith Exam?

After the exam, our medical professional submits aa report and our software generates a PDF report documenting all the questions that were asked, all the answeres provided by the patient, along with the providers recommendation of the treatments for which the patient is cleared.

  • How can patients complete a virtual Good Faith Exam with ease?

We provide a customized link for your practice that  you supply to your patients to connect directly with a GFEase provider with thier own phone/device.  If you have a walkin, we create a custom QR code the patient can scan with thier phone and connect directly with our provider to complete the exam.
